Parents should always have a role in their children’s education – make your voice heard!

The Liberty Public School District will hold an election for two School Board seats on April 5, 2022. Six candidates will appear on the ballot for two seats. Voters will be able to select two candidates on their ballot. Four candidates are actively campaigning for election, while two have suspended their campaigns.

Currence prioritizes academics and in-person learning, noting, “students seated in-person in classrooms is vital to achieve academic excellence.”

 

 

Currence believes the School Board should represent the values of the community rather than “political correctness, woke-ness, and the media.”

 

 

Currence asserts that parents, “not City Council members” should guide school district decisions.

 

 

Currence has previously voted in Republican primary elections and has donated to Republican Senator Jim Inhofe.

 

Currence has been endorsed by the Missouri State Teachers Association, Liberty Councilman Jeff Watt, Kansas City Councilwoman Heather Hall, and Clay County Sheriff Will Akin.

Dan Currence is a father of 4 and is the Director of Engineering at Plastic Pipes Institute.

Rogers founded a local chapter of “Moms Demand Action” which advocates for gun control.

 

Rogers has publicly promoted Democrat political campaigns.

 

Rogers has voted in several Democratic primary elections and has made donations to many Democratic politicians including President Biden, former President Obama, Hillary Clinton, and former Senator Claire McCaskill. She has also donated to the Missouri Democratic State Committee.

 

Rogers’ campaign is endorsed by the National Education Association, a national education union, and the United Auto Workers.

 

Rogers says she supports LPS setting masking guidelines for students.

 

 

Rogers posted an endorsement from a LPS parent and former teacher which lamented a conservative group’s “nasty, dark-money-funded” involvement in a nearby school board election for promoting “extreme views”.

Karen Rogers is a mother and Education Law Attorney. 

Bryant supports a “parental voice” in education.

 

Bryant does not support mask mandates in schools. 

 

Bryant does not support Critical Race Theory and has criticized education unions for pushing the curriculum. 

 

Bryant organized the #LetThemPlay movement to re-open youth sports during the pandemic.

 

Bryant has voted in multiple Republican primary elections.

Kyle Bryant is a father of 3 and a project manager at Vanguard Packaging. 

Sameck supports masking in schools posting that he was “disappointed” that LPS lifted its mandatory mask policy for students. 


Sameck has promoted the work of a friend who was adding books to local “Little Free Libraries” that were being challenged in some schools “by right-wingers” and encouraged others to “spread the word!”


Sameck says if elected he will promote an “equitable education delivered by professional educators.”


Sameck’s campaign is endorsed by the National Education Association, a national education union, and the United Auto Workers.
